Bike-sharing has become a major form of transport in China. People can unlock the shared bikes by simply using their smartphone. The bikes are equipped with GPS and can be left anywhere in public for the next user. They’re popular among many Chinese people as they provide an effective solution to the “l(fā)ast mile” problem, which refers to the final leg of a person’s journey. However, as a coin has two sides, shared bikes also led to some problems such as illegal parking, vandalism and theft. So when we enjoy the convenience that the shared bikes have provided for us, we cannot ignore the negative effect they have caused.Facing such a thorny problem, some effective measures must be taken to solve it. On the one hand, urban transportation system should be upgraded and improved to accommodate automobiles, bikes and pedestrians. On the other hand, the public should raise their awareness of using shared bike reasonably.
In summary, despite it is hard to deal with this problem in a short time, we should have the confidence to address it. With our shared efforts, it will only be a matter of time before the problem becomes things of the past, I firmly believe.
